Tech For Equality Coalition Announces Co-Chairs And 30 New Members

21 Sep Tech For Equality Coalition Announces Co-Chairs And 30 New Members

Today, Tech for Equality named Bill Oesterle and Mark Hill as co-chairs for the coalition. Bill Oesterle is the founder of Angie’s List and the Governor Bob Orr Entrepreneurial Fellowship. Mark Hill is a co-founder of Baker Hill and Collina Ventures.

The coalition also announced 30 companies and leaders in the tech community have joined Tech for Equality in the effort to support local human rights ordinances and update our state’s civil rights laws to include sexual orientation and gender identity.

“Just a few days since announcing Tech for Equality, we have heard tremendous support throughout the tech community,” said Tech for Equality Co-Chair, Mark Hill.  “These 30 members and the nearly 4,700 jobs they contribute to the Indiana economy represent a major business interest in our state. We are grateful they have joined the cause.”

“Last week, a committee of the Carmel City Council allowed the human rights ordinance to stall.  Tonight, we hope the ordinance will be pulled from the committee and passed by the full council,” said Tech for Equality Co-Chair, Bill Oesterle. “Some of our partners are based in Carmel. Others have employees who live in Carmel.  It is very important to the tech community that Carmel takes this opportunity to stand against discrimination.”
